Compact Mobile Servers
The servers that drive the Virtual Reality headsets are custom made and built to last. The compact and transportable design harbors the latest hardware on the market providing excellent graphical quality feeds for the headsets. A single system can be connected to up to 4 headsets while remaining compact in size. The hardware contained in the VR Servers exists of professional servergrade hardware. Closed loop watercooling is used to provide exceptional thermals - reducing noise and extending lifetime of the components. To paint an image; a VRBTech system designed for feeding 2 headsets has a calculating capability of 19 Teraflops, the UK based supercomputer HECToR clocks in at 360 Teraflops.
Every system is built according to the needed specifications. A single server can provide for 4 users simultaneously, either via a Virtual Reality headset like the HTC Vive, or a screen with different controllers. The servers are built with mobility in mind so they can be deployed rapidly and easily in different kinds of fairs.
The Headsets and the Controllers
The latest and the best hardware is utilized to the fullest. Currently Oculus Rift, HTC Vive and Microsoft Hololens compete for the title of best available hardware. Both the Oculus and Vive have similar technical specifications with a resolution of 2160x1200 at a refresh rate of 90 Hz, the Hololens aims at a different result and is limited to 1268x720 at 60Hz per eye. The major difference between the Oculus and Vive is that HTC Vive allows for room scale virtual experiences, while Oculus allows less mobility for the user. For that reason, VRBTech works with the HTC Vive whenever possible.
The HTC Vives ships with magnificent controllers. The positions of the controllers and headset are constantly tracked via software - the accuracy is simply stunning. The controllers allow intuitive interaction with the environment and its objects.
The remarkably versatile software framework has been designed in-house, and it serves as a base for any imaginable VR project. Current implemented functionality includes importing an abundance of 3D files in realtime, placing and adjusting 3D models in VR, presenting dynamic machines, simulating physically accurate vehicles and machines, displaying industrial dynamic machines, working with multiple people on the same model, etc. Just as an example; the development of realistic simulations of vehicles that include accurate mirrors and trailers offers an unseen potential in training personnel.
